Art School in Kenya (MASK)
ARTISTS4AID TERMS AND CONDITIONS
To
apply to Artists4Aid you must submit a completed Application Form to
MASK no less than 12 weeks before the date you wish to depart.
Your
acceptance on the programme will be based on your eligibility and the
positive assessment of your written application, interview and two
references.
Your
application is accepted on the understanding that you realise the
challenges involved in this kind of volunteering including
inconvenience, discomfort and possibly illness. It is a fundamental
condition of joining this programme that you are willing to acknowledge
and accept these potential challenges. MASK members and employees and
their dependants are not eligible for participation in the programme.
Medical
Volunteers are required to complete a medical questionnaire.
Police Report
At
your interview, you must complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check
form. The result of your CRB check must be back before you travel. The
CRB includes checking whether you are suitable to work with children.
You will be asked to pay £30 for to CRB service.
Accommodation
Volunteers accept that they will stay in which will be in accordance
with local standards. This is likely to be significantly more basic
than in the UK.
Passport
It is
your responsibility to ensure that you have a UK passport with at lest
six months validity beyond the date of your return flight.
Insurance
You
will be responsible for your own travel insurance. MASK will give you
contact details of the insurance companies its members used in the past
while travelling to Kenya.
Volunteers Conduct
By
joining this programme you agree:

To
abide by this Terms and Conditions and all MASK's Code of Conduct, Child
Protection Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy.

To act
in a responsible and courteous manner at all times
·
To
observe the local laws and customs of Kenya and its ethnic groups
·
To
adhere to the in-country co-operator's regulations with reference to
acceptable behaviour, timekeeping and dress code.
·
Not to
act in any manner likely to bring the Artists4Aid programme and MASK
into disrepute. MASK will operate continues assessment of conduct.
MASK reserve the right to withdraw you from the programme at any time
and may be implemented immediately without any appeal. Any
transgression may result in you being dealt with by local authorities.
Declaration
Right and Liabilities
1.
Copyright. Any images, photographs and video taken of me while on
programme belong to MASK and I waive any rights to them. Copyright of
all art works produced by the children or local adults during and under
the instruction by the volunteer artist belong to the MASK.
2.
I will
not hold MASK, its members, trustees, officers, partners, affiliates,
agents or employees liable for any loss, damage, personal injury, delay
or expense suffered or incurred by me for any reason.
3.
MASK,
its members, trustees, officers, partners, affiliates, agents or
employees may without liability or expense to themselves, take whatever
actions they deem appropriate with regard to my health and safety and
may place me in a hospital or health-related facility for medical
services and treatment or, if no hospital or health-related facility is
readily available, may place me in the hands of a local medical doctor
or health provider for treatment or service.
Other
matters
4.
Indemnity: I indemnify, without limitation, MASK, its members, trustees,
officers, partners, affiliates, agents or employees, against any loss or
damage suffered by any of them or any claims made against any of them as
a result of any breach or negligence by me during my participation on
the programme.
5.
Complaints. If I want to complain about any service provided by MASK,
its partners, affiliates or agents, I will first inform the supplier of
the service in order to give the supplier the chance to rectify the
problem. I will put my complaint in writing to the supplier and at the
same time inform MASK by email or in writing. MASK will do its best to
rectify the problem. No complaint will be considered if the above
procedure is not followed.
