More than 70 prizes totaling 300,000 KSH were awarded to the winners at the Award Ceremony in Nairobi on 27 April 2017. The Award was opened by the leading Kenyan broadcaster Jeff Koinange and Senior Assistant Director of Quality Assurance of the Kenyan Ministry of Education Mr Majani Alex Tom.

The 2017 MASK Prize exhibits at one of the UK leading public art galleries, Turner Contemporary, as part of the gallery's major show 'Every Day is a New Day' along with Phyllida Barlow, Michael Armitage, and the Turner Contemporary's own art competition Portfolio, https://www.turnercontemporary.org/exhibitions/phyllida-barlow-artist-rooms.
The MASK Prize shows paintings, collages, digital art, photography, music, and the 'Entrepreneurial Ideas' entries. The show was officially opened by the celebrated poet Lemn Sissay MBE.
