On 7 October 2014, MASK's Director Alla Tkachuk  gave a talk to the 1st and 2nd year students of the School of Art and Design at Nairobi University. The talk explained what creativity is, how it works, and how students can leverage it for their own success as designers.

"The academic qualifications are no longer enough.  Your success as designers will be determined by creativity and innovation of your designs.  But how do you innovate?  How do you come up with ambitious and inventive designs that inspire and bring change?  Are there any techniques and strategies that can help you to generate new ground-breaking ideas?  Start re-thinking, not just re-making ", Alla Tkachuk.

The students were given a 'homework' to come up with innovative  design for   a water bottle .

"You  gave us an amazing talk on creativity, that made me rethink my whole strategy on how I approach my work."       Brian Jangima, student
