More than 70 prizes totalling 300,000SH were awarded to the winners of the 2017 MASK PRIZE at its Award Ceremony at Michael Joseph Center in Nairobi on 27 April.

 

Jeff Koinange, the leading Kenyan broadcaster, opened the Awards in presence of the honourable the Senior Assistant Director of Quality Assurance of the Kenyan Ministry of Education Majani Alex Tom and more than 400 guests who came from all parts of Kenya.

MASK Prize

at Turner Contemporary, UK

25 May-25 September 2017

 

The 2017 MASK Prize is shown at a UK leading public art gallery Turner Contemporary as part of its major show 'Every Day is a New Day': along with the leading artists Phyllida Barlow and Michael Armitage, and the Turner Contemporary's art competition Portfolio. The MASK Prize shows the original paintings and collages, its digital art, photography, music, and entrepreneurial ideas. The gallery also shows its film about MASK they made by visiting one of the schools in Kenya. The exhibition was opened by celebrated poet Lemn Sissay MBE.
